another world.

With our last boat ride of the trip (5th to be exact!) we were on our way to another world. A small place with big culture is exactly how I would describe the garifuna village known as Hopkins.
But first the chaotic Belize City to pick up our mode of transportation, the car.
Finally back on 4 wheels we set off to the next place to relax. Although there wasn't that great of water to dive into there was tons of culture. You know we dived right in!, beginning with Brooks Restaurant on the side of the road. *A must stop if you like the coldest of beers and the nicest of owners*
We were already planning to stop on our way back ;)
Hopkins is a very quaint, adorable and quiet village. It was just the perfect place to ease into mainland life
with Palmento Grove Lodge being THE perfect place to stay. I am still dreaming about our traditional garifuna fish meal and the most delicious dessert ever! Seriously, sweet potato pone is heaven on earth plate! Food coma and all we set out on a quick 3-minute drive to grab a drink at 1 of the 2 or 3 bars Hopkins has to offer.
Buíti gúyoun!! ::lights out::
