on the road again

AND sea!

But not without a stop for some rice & beans and, more importantly, at the Belize City Airport to see if the luggage had magically made it's way on over!

and what to my wandering eyes did appear?

FINALLY! Not to turn religious, but at that moment I couldn't help but think 'maybe there is a god' somewhere out there...

FYI - My luggage was a little larger than this due to many Christmas gifts and much cheaper and definitely not leather, but you get the point.

So now it was time to let the road-trip to the boat-trip resume :)

After 1.25 hours, which actually means 2 hours Belize time (they're clearly not in any hurry) we had arrived to Ambergris Caye. Our 1st Belizean paradise from where we'll island hop from. Excited for the beach life for the next 4 days we immediately got golf-carted on over to The Tides Hotel (thanks, lovely fella for the generous free ride!) so we can set down our luggage and set out to enjoy all the fun the largest island of Belize had to offer.

There is definitely no short of fun on Ambergris Caye! Also no short of beautiful views and breath-taking sunsets. I think I could deal with that for MUCH longer than 4 days. In fact, someone may have to peel me from this place eventually.

After a quick grocery (i.e. raman & beer) run for our next days camping adventure it was time to settle down in a nearby restaurant and have our first official date night of the trip. Actually the first date night in over 3 months...
