Blanco.

It's a nice day for a White wedding Sands visit!
"Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert, creating the world's largest gypsum dunefield. White Sands National Monument preserves a major portion of this unique dunefield, along with the plants and animals that live here."
If you're lucky enough you could catch it when they're not performing missile tests and just in time for a sunset stroll like I did! The sunset strolls are a leisurely one-hour ranger-guided walk through the dunes to, not only take in the beautiful sunset, but learn about the geology, plants and animals of the area as well and are not to be missed. These tours are held daily and begin between the hours of 5:00pm and 6:30pm depending on the season. Best part yet - they're completely FREE with your park entrance ticket!
Get there early with some time to spare to be safe and have a fun little photo shoot too!
