finally, the moment i had been waiting (so impatiently) for!
8:00am November 23rd, when we embarked on our journey to paradise - aka nevado toluca.
although the actual hike didn't begin until a wee bit later the amazement and beauty began immediately.
it was like christmas morning for this grown kid.
like nomads we had to stake out our land immediately upon arrival and claim a place to sleep for the night. luckily, no one else had stuck their flag in the base of the shelter - it was ours for the night!
just to seal the deal we set up shop and then set out on our way to the beautiful volcano.
following the hearts along the path we took off, leaving the grid for the next few hours.
(para mí sólo recorrer los caminos que tienen corazón, cualquier camino que tenga corazón.)
and.... finally!
after a few (hundred) pit stops we had finally reached the magical view of the volcano and it's 2 surrounding lagoons, sol y luna.
let me just preface photos do not do this place justice. you really ought to go and experience it for yourself. nevado toluca is truly breath-taking (and literally so make sure to rest up the day before and not drink too many beers prior to the hike. you might even want to exercise a bit before as well...)
it was just like i had imagined - heavenly.

comida, UNO, great chats, musica, freezing and good company was the best way to end what had been an extremely awesome day.
